Be selfish..Do what you love anyway!

Sharing is important, but not at the expense of your requirements. Compromising is a great gesture, but not at the expense of your dreams. Helping people is critical, but not when they don't value it. 

"A little boy walked on the road eating his hard earned bread. A girl, he admired, asked for some. The boy finally realizes that she ate it all, and walked away thankless. "

While we all teach our loved ones on the importance of sharing, compromising for siblings and friends, and helping; Many of us fail to explain the end limit for this kind gesture. You may find my posts radical, but the fact remains, that after a certain age, we need to teach our children to "Be Selfish".

By nature, the female is more considerate while the male more practical. A lady compromises her ambitions, dreams, likes and dislikes, many a times for her parents, siblings, husband and kids. But, the world is changing. And the need of the hour is to 'Think about yourself first, then your immediate family and then the rest of the world." 


And why am I saying this? Simple - Never have a reason to blame others for things you couldn't achieve. "Only if my father allowed me to go abroad! Only if he let me choose my career path, Only if my mom allowed me to marry the one I loved! Only if my husband supported me! Only if I was free of any responsibility of my wife and kids! Only if my boss gave me that awesome project! Only if I had money to work on that idea and the list is endless..... "
Things could have changed if only - you would have got selfish , strong, determined to do what your heart said and not what the world!

LIVE like you were to live forever!

The famous quote by Gandhiji - 

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”

Here is a funny strip that contradicts this statement and makes a pretty valid point! :)

If you were to die tomorrow, what would you do? Well, I can't think of fulfilling any of my dreams in a day. For me, It would just be speaking to all my near and dear ones and telling them how much I loved, respected, admired them, and may be writing some notes for my kids on things to do and not do in future. 

I wouldn't buy a new house if I were to die tomorrow, I wouldn't learn a new language / software to work on, I wouldn't smile, dance and play!

So, It is never about dying tomorrow but about learning from every yesterday's experience and making it a better tomorrow! 

You made it when you open your eyes every morning..

to a new day and a new beginning.

There were somethings yesterday that went wrong,

but many in the coming days to improve on..

All that glitters IS Gold!

Another take from Life today is "Presentation Matters" in your personality and work!

Almost at every step in life, knowingly or unknowingly, we have been giving 5 points extra to presentation, appearance, look and feel and yet, we teach our kids - 'All that glitters is not Gold'? The truth is that we must teach our children that as much critical is our knowledge, equally essential is our presentation. 

Presentation in your personality comprises of three main mantras - Confidence, Smartness and Fashion Sense, or in short - Love yourself! Not all Indians are taught to be fashionable. We are always asked to be knowledgeable , and the rest will follow. But the truth is, A guy would say that a girl gets bonus points for being a girl; A girl would say, that she got more attention 'coz she is smart! So, knowledge matters a lot, but your personality is what brings you to the limelight. And if you are confident, strong in your opinions, looks and passion, then no one can ever pull you back! Same applies to work. You may have worked all night and invented the best phone in the world. But An Apple Iphone will in the end, pull off more than a Nokia Smartphone? 

The world is attracted to beauty by nature, and it is high time we accept the truth and work towards it :) 

Now, just so I am clear, beauty does not mean being fair, with lovely features, and expensive clothes and makeup! It just means, wearing a smile, taking adequate sleep, to have a glow on the face, dressing up to what the occasion demands, even if it is not expensive, and more than all, your strong confident nature. Be the heart of the party!

A short poem - 
I worked all night, and walked in the meeting room next day,
looking like Einstein, with my hair hay-way and my eyes so gray. 
My confidence went low as I saw my peers tease and giggle.
Work well presented, but somewhere in my heart, there was a drizzle.
This guy who was next, spoke well and was smartly dressed, 
His work was average, but people were impressed.

I realize now, the secret sauce is confidence, smartness and speech.
Love thyself, and Feel Supreme, is what I will preach

By nature, World IS ALWAYS attracted towards beauty,
Be Assured, Your Knowledge coupled with Appearance will always come handy.

Yes! We experienced it when we were kids, and we experience it today. Our friends, family, teachers, investors, and everyone we know, support us initially, or should I say guide us. But, we still fall! A startup is no easy game!

When a little one struggles to walk, or when a new career path is unlocked,
When you are blessed with a new born, or when a new idea sees the dawn,
Failure, Happiness and Pleasure, every step unfolds,
Mistakes are natural, but the talent and confidence in you, seldom withhold.

Don't be Modest!

From childhood, My parents, teachers, relatives and all elders always taught me to be MODEST! But As I grew, I realized this is an incorrect teaching, I will never ever teach my kids!

Show Off to the world about what you are! A great designer, a great writer, singer or dancer, cook, or traveler. Just say it!

Why shouldn’t we brag about ourselves? 

The first question asked in an interview is - ‘Tell us your 3 most amazing qualities about yourself’. The first question asked in a marriage - ‘Tell us something about yourself’. Can you be or Should you be modest here? No Ways! Just be yourself, because you are not born to impress anyone. 

It’s a right saying that ' I am drunk therefore I am '.

So, lets start teaching our kids to boast about themselves, be confident, and let the world know about their accomplishments, their talent and their passion!

Take One - Don't run behind time!

I am starting this blog with an idea to inculcate the feeling of positivity among my peers, kids and myself :) . 

There may be a lot of people feeling bored, depressed, and lonely at some point in life, but remember this phase shall end. We all need to speak to our near and dear ones. I am not feeling very good today, so I am taking up writing, my childhood passion.

We all experience multiple things everyday in our life, Some good and some bad. But, what we always end up talking about is the bad experience. Its time we start jotting down one new learning everyday. Its time we start following our passion, do things that make us happy, write, speak, laugh and enjoy life! 

My one take from life today is that you will never have time ! So, lets just start making the most of it now !
